Our Story & Legacy
Founded in 1935 by Albert Schneider, A.H. Schneider Monument began with a simple mission – to provide Shawano and its surrounding communities with memorials of distinctive beauty, enduring quality, and fine craftsmanship.
Following Albert’s passing in 1957, leadership passed to his son, George Schneider, continuing the family’s dedication to local families. Over the decades, the business transitioned into the caring hands of Tom and Shirley Kieckhafer, and later Dan and Lisa Kretschmann – each maintaining the company’s steadfast commitment to hand-crafted excellence.

As our reputation grew, so did our footprint across the state. Schneider Monument expanded to better serve families throughout Northern and Central Wisconsin, opening Medford Monument (1989) and Rhinelander Memorials (1997), followed by the acquisition of Norde Memorials (2014) in Wausau.
In 2019, the legacy came full circle when Chad and Kristy (Kieckhafer) Spaeth purchased Schneider Monument, carrying forward a family connection to the business and a deep respect for its history.
Schneider Monument Today
Today, we proudly operate four dedicated showroom locations alongside a trusted network of partner funeral homes in Gillett, Suring, Antigo, Shawano, and Oconto Falls. After nearly nine decades, our core values remain unchanged – helping families across Northeast, Northern, and Central Wisconsin honor their loved ones with timeless, handcrafted tributes.
